How do you get over fear of lightning?

Ever since I can remember, I feel very nervous with heavy thunderstorms and lightning. I always worry about lightning hitting my house, even though this has never happened. However, I do enjoy a mild thunderstorm, it is just the cloud-to-ground lightning severe storm types that unnerve me. Any advice??? Thanks!
