Why did God use Satan to make life so miserable for Job?

Giving Satan permission doesn't mean He ordained Satan to make life miserable for Job. It is not really a strange game when you read the answer that God gives to Job. Like all people, Job had a tendency to have pride in his own righteousness. I believe God knew all along that Job would never "Curse God and die" as his wife advised him. This test actually increased Job's trust and faith in the Lord's sovereignty.
